Currently a Faculty governance consultant.
Chapter Vice-President: W. Michelle Harris, Associate Professor
School of Interactive Games and Media, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. Harris is a digital media artist who uses code as a medium for engaging discussions as a Black woman in American culture. Harris creates interactive installations and produces live-mixed visuals for collaborative performances.
Chapter Treasurer: Dr. Aaron McGowan, Principal Lecturer
School of Physics and Astronomy, College of Science. McGowan is an inquisitive scientist with over fourteen years of teaching experience in higher education. Skilled in Mathematical Modeling, Python, ROOT, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and simulation of physical systems. Enjoys teaching hands-on experiments and statistical analysis to the next generation of scientists. Strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Particle Physics from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and BS in Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
Chapter for External Relations: Atia Newman, Associate Professor
School of Film and Animation, College of Art and Design. Newman is a 3D tech artist and animator who focuses on how people consume visual media and the effect it has on establishing world views. This work has led her to explore social and cultural dynamics all over the world. She used her knowledge to give back to the RIT community by serving as a Faculty Senate rep for 6 years and as Faculty Senate Chair for 3.
